SHUNGA - Behind the Scenes Film
In 2013 I worked on a photographic collaboration with Emmanuel Angelicas (エマニュエル アンジェリカス). His work is acknowledged worldwide.
We produced photographs influenced by Japanese Shunga. These photographs will be included in my art photo book.
The wooden phallus' were recreated authentically. Emmanuel and I researched and we achieved the detail that we desired.
We were totally committed to ourselves. We were connected and the photographs expressed this.
It was traditional. It was romantic. It was gentle.
This is how I see and understand Shunga.
Emmanuel Angelicas grew up in Marrickville, Sydney. His work has been widely collected and exhibited in Australia, Japan, Lithuania, France, Greece and The Netherlands.
